China Mobile International (CMI) announced the launch of Jego, a VoIP mobile application, to grow its international retail business.
Jego is available for free on iOS and Android platforms for users outside of China.
For overseas Chinese, who already have a China Mobile number, they can now retain their number and bind it with Jego to enjoy free roaming incoming calls. For other overseas users, they can rent a China Mobile number to receive unlimited free calls and use Jego to make international calls at low cost anywhere in the world. Jego also allows users to send text messages, share pictures, and make voice and video calls within the application at no extra charge.
John Jiang, CTO, China Mobile International, said that China Mobile is building a Jego Alliance of mobile and fixed line operators around the world to allow Jego users to rent or bind multiple numbers from different countries.
