TVC Communications signs Motorola to supply Carrier Ethernet portfolio

Telecom Lead America: TVC Communications has tapped Motorola Mobility to provide Carrier Ethernet portfolio to telecom operators.

Telecom service providers will benefit as Motorola Mobility’s Carrier Ethernet portfolio is designed to offer several key advantages to tap the more than $130 billion business services and mobile backhaul solutions market.

Motorola claims that its Carrier Ethernet portfolio offers an end-to-end MEF Certified solution to help service providers deploy cost-effective Ethernet and TDM services to business customers and mobile carriers.

The company will offer aggregation switches, customer premises demarcation products, a leading-edge service management platform, and an innovative 10 Gbps Carrier Ethernet switch designed for deployment in the HFC fiber node.

“Through our agreement with WESCO’s TVC Communications, Motorola’s Carrier MEF Certified Ethernet solution offers service providers the flexibility to service business customers or mobile operators with low-cost deployment opportunities via existing outside plant or new fiber builds addressing various business services applications,” said Joe Cozzolino, senior vice president and general manager, Network Infrastructure Solutions, Motorola Mobility.

“WESCO’s TVC Communications’ customers can preserve their existing network investments or leverage new fiber builds to quickly become part of the business services marketplace. Our relationship with Motorola extends over many years and across many of their product areas. We look forward to quickly incorporating Motorola’s new Carrier Ethernet line of products into our overall offering,” said David Bemoras, vice president of Operations at WESCO Distribution.

TelecomLead.com recently reported that Motorola Mobility will showcase a mix of smart software, network and in-home technologies at The Cable Show 2012. Motorola Mobility is trying to empower service providers to deliver on the promise of the IP Connected Home of the Future.
