Integra Telecom enhances number of buildings on its network by 20 percent

Integra Telecom, a provider of enterprise grade
networking and communications solutions, has expanded its network in some of
the major metropolitan areas of the western U.S.

In the first half of the year, Integra has extended its
fiber network to nearly 300 additional commercial buildings marking a 20
percent increase in on-net buildings since the beginning of the year.

The push to expand its network and increase the number of
fiber-fed buildings is part of Integra’s approach to support the needs of
enterprise-level customers that demand sophisticated, high-capacity,
fiber-based solutions.

Integra has grown by providing service to thousands of
small-to-medium sized business customers,” said Steve Zimba, chief marketing
officer of Integra Telecom.

Now we are aggressively augmenting our world-class fiber
network in order to serve demanding, high bandwidth customers such as data
centers, regional headquarters and multi-tenant business parks,” Zimba added.

This expansion is part of Integra’s $52 million year-long
plan to leverage its fiber network to provide wholesale, enterprise and carrier-class
high bandwidth products and services. Integra already operates the most
extensive fiber network of any competitive services provider for business in
the West.

In addition to more than 1,600 lit fiber-fed buildings,
Integra’s fiber network consists of 5,000 long haul route miles and 3,000
metropolitan route miles. Integra leverages its fiber capacity to deliver a
broad range of carrier Ethernet layer 2 and MPLS layer 3 services.
