Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has launched a revamped version of its TRAI MyCall mobile application, enabling telecom subscribers to assess and report the quality of their voice-calling experience in real time. The app is designed to strengthen consumer participation while helping telecom operators identify network issues and improve service quality across India.

With more than one billion telecom subscribers in the country, voice calling remains the most widely used telecom service and one of the most important indicators of network performance. TRAI said the enhanced MyCall platform combines consumer feedback with network parameters to provide a more comprehensive assessment of telecom Quality of Experience (QoE), complementing traditional Quality of Service (QoS) measurements.
The citizen-centric application allows users to submit immediate feedback after every voice call, with responses shared in anonymised form with both TRAI and telecom service providers (TSPs). This enables operators to identify problem areas, take targeted corrective actions, and improve network performance while giving the regulator valuable data for evidence-based oversight.
Revamped TRAI MyCall App Features
The latest version of the TRAI MyCall application introduces several new consumer-friendly capabilities aimed at simplifying participation and improving network monitoring.
Subscribers can instantly rate voice calls using a 1-5 star rating system and report specific network issues, including call drops, echo during calls, audio delay, cross connections, voice breaking, one-way audio problems where one party cannot hear the other, and unusually long call connection times.
The application also supports automatic post-call feedback prompts, allowing users to submit ratings without manually opening the app after every call.
In addition, the app includes an interactive map that displays users’ rating and feedback history, while a new Coverage Test feature enables consumers to assess mobile signal strength at different locations.
Consumer Feedback to Drive Better Telecom Networks
TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti said every telecom consumer experiences network quality first-hand, making user feedback an important input for improving telecom services.
The upgraded TRAI MyCall application is expected to strengthen consumer participation by allowing subscribers to provide immediate feedback on their calling experience. The information will help telecom service providers identify network deficiencies, implement corrective measures, improve customer satisfaction, and deliver a better overall mobile communication experience.
He added that the initiative reflects TRAI’s commitment to a consumer-centric, transparent, and data-driven approach to improving telecom service quality, while encouraging all mobile users to regularly share their feedback through the application.
Currently, the revamped TRAI MyCall application is available for Android devices through the Google Play Store.
