Telefonica allocates 45% of Capex for fibre and 5G

Telefonica said investment increased by 10.9 percent in the third quarter, to €1.493 billion, and by 20.3 percent through September, to €4.893 billion.
Telefonica’s 5G network in SpainTelefonica has allocated around 45 percent of the investment for the deployment and development of fibre and 5G.

Telefonica’s Capex, excluding spectrum, stood at €3.904 billion for nine months of 2021, representing 13.2 percent of revenues, which is also on track to meet the financial targets for the year.

Telefonica’s fibre network passed 156.6 million premises both in Europe and Latin America. The Group’s total access base grew 3 percent to 365.7 million.

Telefonica said digitisation of processes has reached 79 percent of the total, with real-time management that enables a more agile customer service to be provided.
