T-Mobile enhances Capex guidance to boost 5G

T-Mobile today revealed that Capex is expected to be between $13.2 billion to $13.5 billion, an increase from the prior guidance of $13 billion to $13.5 billion as T-Mobile continues its accelerated build-out of its nationwide 5G network.

T-Mobile’s total revenue rose 1.8 percent to $20.12 billion. Net income, however, fell 23.6 percent to $713 million.

# Approximately 45 percent of postpaid customers are using a 5G smartphone, and 5G devices account for more than half of total network traffic

T-Mobile’s 5G network covers 315 million people, or 95 percent of Americans, across 1.8 million square miles, delivering more geographic coverage than Verizon and AT&T combined, including over 4x Verizon and over 30 percent more than AT&T.

T-Mobile said Ultra-Capacity 5G covers 225 million people and nearly 85 percent of T-Mobile customers. T-Mobile plans to bring Ultra Capacity 5G to 260 million people this year and 300 million by the end of 2023.

T-Mobile US has added 589,000 monthly phone-bill paying customers in the first quarter of 2022, as it benefited from the rollout of new 5G cellular networks.
