Commenting on the successful auction, Dan Sjoblom, Director-General of PTS, highlighted the positive outcome in terms of spectrum distribution and its potential impact on enhancing consumer competition.

“We see that there is a spread of spectrum holdings, which provides good conditions for robust end consumer competition. We see that the auction has worked well as a tool for distributing frequencies,” Dan Sjoblom said.

The auction, conducted through a clock auction mechanism and subsequent placement stages, was concluded after three days of rigorous bidding and competition. The spectrum allocation, a pivotal factor in shaping the future of the telecommunications landscape in Sweden, is now in the final stages of decision-making.

In the coming days, PTS will finalize all decisions regarding the assignment of licenses, paving the way for further advancements and innovation in Sweden’s telecommunications sector. Stay tuned for more updates as the industry anticipates the transformative effects of these newly acquired spectrum licenses.
