Jio Q1-FY2026: 5G subscribers, FWA, ARPU, strategies

Jio has achieved several significant milestones in the first quarter of FY26. It recorded its highest-ever consolidated quarterly EBITDA and net profit.

Jio Platforms’ EBITDA rose 23.9 percent year-on-year to ₹18,135 crore, with an EBITDA margin improvement of 210 basis points to 51.8 percent, supported by operational efficiencies and increased ARPU of Rs 208.8. Revenue grew by 18.8 percent, supported by increased subscriber engagement.

Reliance Industries (RIL) Chairman Mukesh D. Ambani said: “Jio AirFiber is now the largest FWA service provider in the world, with a base of 7.4 million subscribers. Our Digital Services business consolidated its market position with a robust financial and operational performance.”

Reliance Jio Chairman Akash M. Ambani said: “We have delivered a milestone quarter at Jio with our 5G and Home subscriber base crossing the 200 million and 20 million marks, respectively.”

The company added 9.9 million new subscribers during the quarter, taking its total subscriber base to 498.1 million as of June 2025. JioTrue5G crossed the 200 million mark, reaching a user base of 212 million. Jio is the number one 5G operator in India — well ahead of Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea.

Total data traffic increased 24 percent to 54.7 billion GB. Total voice traffic rose by 4.9 percent to 1.49 trillion minutes.

JioAirFiber emerged as the world’s largest fixed wireless access (FWA) service with a subscriber base of approximately 7.4 million, while Jio crossed 20 million connected premises in the home broadband segment.

Jio continued to expand its digital offerings, launching JioGames Cloud with access to over 500 titles, further strengthening its position in the consumer digital services space. JioHotstar delivered its biggest ever IPL, averaging over 460 million monthly active users and achieving record-breaking digital viewership of 652 million.

The JioStar network led TV entertainment with a 35.5 percent viewership share and secured key international content rights. Jio’s proprietary technology stack enabled global-scale 5G deployment, driving innovation and cost efficiency in broadband delivery through its unique Point-to-Multi-Point UBR technology.
