AT&T has revealed its 5G customer base, revenue, operating expense and capital expenditure during the third quarter of 2022.
AT&T has added 708,000 new monthly bill-paying wireless phone subscribers in the third quarter and 338,000 fiber internet customers.
The US-based wireless carrier is betting on the demand for broadband, international roaming, and monthly bill-paying subscribers to help pay off the nearly $134 billion debt on its balance sheet.
AT&T said revenues from continuing operations for the third quarter totaled $30 billion versus $31.3 billion in the year-ago quarter, down 4.1 percent reflecting the impact of the U.S. Video separation in July 2021.
AT&T said operating expenses from continuing operations were $24 billion versus $25.1 billion in the year-ago quarter. The prior-year quarter included one month of U.S. Video results as well as 3G network shutdown costs.
AT&T said capital expenditures from continuing operations were $5.9 billion in the quarter, up $1.5 billion year over year.
AT&T’s mid-band 5G spectrum covers 100 million people. AT&T has updated end-of-year target to more than 130 million people on AT&T’s mid-band 5G spectrum.
AT&T has revealed its 5G customer base. AT&T’s 5G wireless has added 2.2 million postpaid phone connections YTD through Q3. AT&T has achieved postpaid phone ARPU of $55.67, up $0.86 sequentially and 2.4 percent year-over-year.
AT&T sais broadband revenues grew 6.1 percent due to AT&T Fiber growth and higher ARPU. AT&T’s Q3 Fiber ARPU was $62.62, up $0.97 sequentially. AT&T added 338,000 AT&T Fiber connections and it has the ability to serve 18.5 million customer locations.
