5G speed: Top 10 cities and countries

The latest Opensignal report has revealed the top 10 cities and top 10 countries in terms of 5G speed.
Apple iphone 12 5G smartphone in SingaporeJeonju (South Korea), Hsinchu (Taiwan), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Dubai (UAE), Tokyo (Japan), Melbourne (Australia), Zurich (Switzerland), Dublin (Ireland), Barcelona (Spain), Calgary (Canada) are the top 10 cities that top the chart on 5G network speed.

Top 10 cities

The 5G mobile speed on smartphones touched 415.6 Mbps in Jeonju, 360.1 Mbps in Hsinchu, 317.3 Mbps in Riyadh, 285.4 Mbps in Dubai, 277.5 Mbps in Tokyo, 257.6 Mbps in Melbourne, 245.1 Mbps in Zurich, 194 Mbps in Dublin, 188.8 Mbps in Barcelona, and 184.1 Mbps in Calgary.

Top 10 countries

5G speed was 361 Mbps in South Korea, 309.9 Mbps in Taiwan, 269 Mbps in UAE, 231.5 in Japan, 229.9 Mbps in Saudi Arabia, 219.5 Mbps in Finland, 212.9 Mbps in Kuwait, 173.3 Mbps in Switzerland and 162.8 Mbps in Austria.

A number of large and early 5G markets miss out on a top 10 position. For example, while Germany is among the top 10 for 5G Upload Speed, it misses out on both 5G Download Speed and 5G Peak Download Speed and 5G Video Experience. Similarly, Italy misses out from placing in the leaderboard in all the 5G categories.

Users in Thailand and the Philippines see the biggest improvement in their experience using 5G compared with 4G. Looking at average download speeds, users in those markets see an improvement of approximately ten times faster with 5G over 4G.
