Reliance Intelligence has announced a partnership with Google to accelerate Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption across India. The initiative supports Reliance’s “AI for All” vision by combining Reliance’s connectivity and ecosystem reach with Google’s AI technology to make intelligent tools accessible to every Indian.
Google AI Pro for Jio Users
As part of this collaboration, Google and Reliance Intelligence will roll out the Google AI Pro plan with the latest Gemini 2.5 Pro model for eligible Jio users free of charge for 18 months. Valued at Rs 35,100, this offer includes access to Google’s AI features such as the Nano Banana and Veo 3.1 models for image and video generation, Notebook LM for research and study, and 2 TB of cloud storage.
Jio users can activate the plan via the MyJio app, with early access available for users aged 18 to 25 on unlimited 5G plans. The rollout will soon extend to all Jio customers nationwide. The initiative also aims to introduce localized AI-driven experiences reflecting India’s linguistic and cultural diversity.
Expanding AI Infrastructure with Google Cloud
Reliance is partnering with Google Cloud to expand access to Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) – Google’s advanced AI hardware accelerators. This move aligns with Reliance’s goal of building multi-gigawatt, clean energy-powered compute infrastructure to strengthen India’s sovereign AI capabilities.
By providing broader access to TPUs, the partnership will help Indian organizations train and deploy advanced AI models and accelerate inferencing for complex projects. It also supports the national vision to position India as a global leader in AI innovation.
Gemini Enterprise for Indian Businesses
Reliance Intelligence will become a strategic go-to-market partner for Google Cloud, driving adoption of Gemini Enterprise, Google’s unified agentic AI platform designed for businesses. The platform enables teams to create, manage, and deploy AI agents for various workflows within a secure environment.
Reliance Intelligence will develop pre-built enterprise AI agents within Gemini Enterprise, offering businesses a wider range of both Google-built and third-party solutions tailored for Indian enterprises.
Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, said: “Through our collaboration with Google, we aim to make India not just AI-enabled but AI-empowered – where every citizen and enterprise can harness intelligent tools to create, innovate and grow.”
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, said: “Together we’ve brought affordable internet access and smartphones to millions. Now, we are bringing this collaboration into the AI era. Today’s announcement will put Google’s cutting-edge AI tools in the hands of consumers, businesses, and India’s vibrant developer community.”
Earlier, Airtel entered into a collaboration with Google Cloud to develop cloud and generative AI solutions for Indian enterprises. The partnership includes cloud managed-services for Airtel’s large and emerging business customers; generative AI models trained on Airtel’s datasets for uses such as geospatial analytics, voice analytics (covering Indian languages), marketing-automation and predictive insights.
Jio has partnered with NVIDIA to build AI-infrastructure and develop large language models (LLMs) and AI applications for the Indian market. The collaboration covers AI-hardware (e.g., NVIDIA Grace Hopper Superchip) and development of AI services spanning agriculture, healthcare, language models for Indian languages, etc.
